The beginning of wisdom.
Several news outlets are reporting the first (albeit minor) defeat in the renewal process of the USA Patriot Act.
While I rejoice that some portion of our elected body has at least a modicum of common sense, it's important to bear in mind how quickly this victory can go away. All it takes is a wrong vote in the Senate or a veto from President Bush. Write your senators and encourage them to pass this amendment to the Patriot Act.
