Frustration sucks and so do motivational memos from your boss.
"As we continue to push forward an aggressive agenda, one that will continue grow more aggressive, we must all strive to be more productive with our time so that we can drive forward this agenda with our three priorities always in mind:
1. Growing jobs and employment
2. Growing personal income
3. Customer satisfaction
I truly believe ours is special mission, and that the ultimate direction of our state is at least in part dependent upon our success!"
Ron, I want you to understand something very clearly. All we can do is administer unemployment in an efficient manner. We cannot attract new employers to Indiana, we cannot campaign to increase the average income in the state and an unemployed "customer" is never going to be satisfied. Please go back to Walton Hill and leave me be.
In non-work news, several events in my life have conspired to make the next couple of weeks busy and more than a little stressful. Jessi and I are moving in together next weekend, I have some massive student loan payments to make (you know, a year of school really wasn't worth $12,000) and I'm once again stuck doing most of the preparation for this weekend's LAN (not that I mind really - I enjoy *that* kind of work). Everything's going fine and things should work out well, but I'm not a person that likes to have a lot of things to do. There's a word for that and I can't quite think of...oh yes, lazy. I am a fat, lazy bastard.
In the "something weird I stumbled across at Ars" category, a pet store in Michigantown, Indiana burned down and a turtle escaped unharmed save for a peculiar pattern scorched into his shell. Some have claimed the pattern appears to be none other than the Enemy himself. A man in my own hometown of Zionsville is selling a DVD recording of this turtle for $500. Wha-huh?
Oh, and pulling someone's feeding tube and letting them starve to death is a goddamn awful way to "let someone die." I'm all about a person's right to take their own life when and how they choose, but starving them or otherwise forcing them to die a painful death because Western medicine can't come to grips with death is atrocious. Other than that, I have no opinion regarding the Super Life Support Case™.
