Warning: the doofus depicted to the right will very shortly be turning twenty years old. Should you see him loose in public, please contact the authorities immediately. Do not attempt to approach or pursue him, as he is believed to be armed and goofy. Thank you.
That's right. Today is my younger brother's 20th birthday (happy birthday Paul!). He used to bug the crap out of me (and still does on occasion, like any sibling), but as he's gotten older we've gotten closer - similar to the way my older brother Andy and I got closer after I got a bit older. He's a fellow geek, so that helps as we have a lot in common (except I have no musical talent whatsoever where he can play like 40,000 instruments).

Tonight, a bunch of us are going to go out to Longhorn to buy the kid a steak and then we're going back to my place for general hanging out.

Jessi and I have begun the great quest to furnish what will eventually be our new home. We've settled on taking over the lease at the apartment she currently shares with Jolene and Eric (her sister and brother-in-law, also good friends of mine) when they move into their new condo. Recently complications with their condo purchase may either delay us or force us to seek alternate arrangements, but we're hoping things will work out. To that end, we've begun shopping for couches, tables, etc. I hate shopping, so it's a bit of a drag and I'm sure Jessi's not enjoying dragging around a five-year-old child the size of a caribou.

Work is...work. I can't get into it now because I'm a bit pressed for time (gotta go get a haircut before dinner tonight), but projects are multiplying, new administrators are especially dense and priorities are so far skewed it's not even funny. Now we find out that our new boss (Mitch the Knife) thinks that IT ought to be run "like a dictatorship." Joy!

Anyway, that's all I've got for now. I'll probably try to post again on Sunday or so.

Have a good weekend everyone!

-Sam
